By the time I tuned into "The Office" last season, the show was far along in its narrative arc. I knew from friends that Dwight and Angela were no more after he had killed her cat, and that Jim and Pam were dating (finally!). But I missed most of the episodes explaining the details of the storyline. I thought I'd just have to wait until the DVDs were available through Netflix this fall.
Then a co-worker told me about Hulu.com. Enter some basic demographic information and you can watch shows like "The Office," as well as many movies, for free. Yes, there are still a few 30-second ads in the show and, depending on your bandwidth, there can be a few hiccups as it plays. But it works relatively well, and, best part of all, it's free.
